Get to Know Us
We are passionate about providing patient-centered care. Having worked in various roles in the UK and South Africa, we have experience in a wide range of genetic conditions, healthcare settings, working with genetic testing laboratories and interpretation of results. We believe in changing the way patients and their families are able to access genetics healthcare.
Our goal is to offer flexible appointment options, appropriate and affordable genetic testing and being approachable and available to our patients every step of the way.
I completed my BSc (Med) Honours in Physiology and MSc (Med) in Genetic Counselling through the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Following my training, I completed my internship at Groote Schuur and Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospitals in Cape Town. I have worked as a Genetics Application Specialist (laboratory genetic counsellor) at a diagnostic laboratory and worked in private practice in Cape Town before moving to the UK in 2019. I worked in Clinical Genetics in the NHS for two years before moving to a full-time role as a laboratory genetic counsellor for preimplantation genetic testing. I am involved in the following professional societies: Association of Genetic Nurses and Counsellors, British Society of Genomic Medicine, UK Cancer Genetics Group, National Society of Genetic Counsellors (USA) and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology. I am registered as a genetic counsellor by the Health Professions Council of South Africa and the UK Academy for Healthcare Science (previously GCRB).
